Hi Family;
If I've done this correctly, you will receive this email that I am posting on the blog site "Milbourne Plus".
Originally set up to improve communications between us, blogging does not seem to be something we consistently think of doing, I know I don't. So I can understand not adding to it on any consistent basis.
From one of my recent searches for more ancestral information I found Milbourne Plus and our pictures on Google Images. I thought that was pretty cool because I know many people do the same thing as me searching for long lost ancestors. So now, if anyone besides me is looking, they will find us here. I have found many very interesting tidbits of info from doing this. Particularly meeting Charles Stanley of Illinois who is a cousin, removed or whatever they call it. It was his grandfather that our father was named after. His grandfather was our grandmother's brother, Nonny's brother. "Uncle Charlie" as they called him was shot and killed by a what we call today as a Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome victim as a result of serving in WW1. They called it different things then, but he went crazy and shot this great, great Uncle of ours and Charles Stanley (also named for Charlie) sent me the complete articles about it through to the end of the sentancing, which I've added here. If this kind of information interests you, share it with the rest of your family.
I think knowing about our beginnings makes me feel as though the present is somehow more significant, because I've learned what a long way we've come. And since the collection of family pictures is one of my favorite pastimes, I've posted many more of them here on the blog site and there will be more as time allows. The pictures on the right of the page are in thumbnail size but the ones in the postings just need to be clicked on to view in a larger format. Also I'm setting up a WebAlbum through Picassa so all the old pictures can be viewed there.
In the future, since I enjoyed doing this so much, I'm going to set up a site similar to this with all the Barbee photos I have, which are many.
So, I'm sure "Life is in Progress" for all, as I know it is for me.
Thanks for listenting.....Geneva
